Ben Lomond HS Black Student Union

Ben Lomond High School students have started the first Black Student Union at an Ogden City School District campus. Our members include some of the most talented and hard-working students at Ben Lomond. We are going to take a trip back east to show our members what Black excellence looks like in a college setting. We are also planning a tour of the U.S. Capital, the White House, and the Smithsonian. Growing up in Utah, it is often difficult for our Black students to experience what it is like to be surrounded by people who share a common cultural experience. Exposing them to people who look and speak like them, especially in a college setting, will accelerate our students on their path to success. Our goal is to work with our students, our faculty, and our community to give our students this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
