Middle School Dance Expectations Form 2025-26

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees, it is essential to understand and adhere to specific expectations.  It is your responsibility to be aware of and comply with these expectations.  These expectations apply to both GVSD students.

  1. The Middle School Dance is a school event, and as such, all students must abide by the GVSD Student Code of Conduct. Failure to abide by these expectations may result in dismissal from the dance (with no refund) and additional disciplinary consequences.

  1. The Middle School Dance is held on Friday, April 10, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

  • Students should not arrive before 4:45 pm.

  • Students will not be admitted to the dance after 6:00 pm (tickets will not be refunded).

  • Students choosing to leave before 7:00 pm will not be readmitted, will not receive a refund, and parents/guardians will be notified of departure.

  1. Students must be in attendance at school the day before the Middle School Dance (Thursday, November 6, 2025) in order to attend the dance.

  1. Students who have not served or completed disciplinary consequences assigned before the dance cannot attend the dance.

  1. Students will not be permitted to leave the MPR during the dance. Students will not be permitted to go to their cars to retrieve forgotten belongings.

  1. Students are expected to wear semi-formal attire.

  • Semi-formal/western attire must be worn at all times and may not be taken off during the dance.

  • Students and their belongings are subject to administrative searches (purses may be checked to ensure no inappropriate materials are contained within)

  • GVSD is not responsible for lost/stolen belongings.

  1. Students must remain in designated areas at all times: MPR and Office Hallway.

  1. Dancing: students are reminded that this event is a middle school dance, not a party or nightclub. Therefore, there are certain standards that should be maintained. Violations of these expectations will be addressed.  Continued violations may result in dismissal from the dance without refund.

  1. The Middle School Dance should be a safe place for all in attendance.  Students arguing or approaching others in a hostile or harassing manner will be dismissed from the dance without refund.
