This portrait was inspired by my mom’s request for a painting of my older brother when he was a toddler. I wanted to capture not only his likeliness but the vibrance and warmth of early childhood. I drew inspiration from painters Mary Cassatt and Johannes Vermeer, who were best known for their soft, personal, and most importantly warm paintings.
To bring this vision to life, I focused on soft yet bright colors and gentle lighting to create a nostalgic feeling. I did this to reflect how childhood memories can feel warm and timeless. This painting represents family, memories, and the things that shape our relationships.
All purchased artwork should be picked up and taken home from the reception on April 23rd 4-6pm at North Gwinnett High school in the CLC.
