My artwork, Innerexpression, was inspired by my client’s connection to their heritage. Throughout their childhood—and for generations before them—folktales and mythical creatures played an important role in storytelling. They wanted the artwork to help them relive and remember those meaningful moments. Their only request was that the piece be eye-catching and turn heads, which gave me a lot of creative freedom.
While searching for inspiration, I looked at the work of Archan Nair, whose vibrant color palettes and strong value contrasts influenced my approach. I was also inspired by Vincent van Gogh and his expressive use of texture and movement.
To bring this vision to life, I mainly used acrylic paint and to create texture and bold color. My color palette focuses on complementary pairs such as blue and orange, yellow and purple, along with black and white to strengthen contrast and depth.
All purchased artwork should be picked up and taken home from the reception on April 23rd 4-6pm at North Gwinnett High school in the CLC.
