Tooele Education Foundation Summer Classes 2025
Want to spend time learning to code and work with remarkably cool, programmable robots in the great Ophir outdoors? This class, taught by Mike Sumner, will foster an environment of collaboration and critical thinking where each student's creativity is encouraged to flourish as they engage in hands-on activities that explore the world through simulations. Participants will design and build robots, collect and analyze data, and solve problems as a group.
All class registrations close seven days prior. Many classes fill quickly. However, each class requires a minimum of five participants to be held. If we do not have five participants, we will combine with another class or cancel and refund the money at the discretion of the Tooele Education Foundation. Class fees are otherwise non-refundable.
Registration covers bus transportation, lunch, snacks, water, a T-shirt, materials and supplies, and instruction. Students must dress appropriately for an outdoor experience. Closed-toe shoes, a hat, a light jacket, gloves (if appropriate), and sunscreen are highly recommended.
AM CLASSES: Students will board a TCSD school bus at Tooele High School (301 W Vine Street, Tooele—in the front of the school) at 8:00 AM and depart for the Ophir Canyon Education Center. The bus will return to Tooele High School at approximately 12:00 PM. Please make arrangements to have your student picked up at this time. Students will not have access to the school to call for a ride.
