Caveman Football - Junior High Strength Camp
Who: Open to all Caveman Football Players currently in 6th to 9th Grade. Players will be taught lifting techniques from Coach Behm and other members of the AFHS football staff.
When: January 27th to March 27th (9 Weeks)
Players should choose their session:
Session 1: Mondays (3:30 to 4:30) and Wednesdays (3:30 to 4:30)
Session 2: Tuesdays (3:30 to 4:30) and Thursdays (3:30 to 4:30)
*Both sessions are exactly the same. Please choose 1.
What: Players will be taught proper lifting techniques and become familiar and comfortable with the weight room and the weight lifting program at American Fork High School. Players will be using a proven program, very similar to what is done at the high school. Each workout is designed to track each lift, and monitor improvement along the way.
Where: The weight room at AFHS.
Why: More and more football is becoming a game of size and strength. We want to start helping athletes develop their core muscles, and preparing their body for football. While the goal of this program will be to increase strength, more emphasis will be put on technique, then the amount of weight a player can lift. Players must know proper form and technique to maximize their strength, and reduce their chance of injury in the weight room.
