Grantsville Wrestling Club / Junior Cowboys Wrestling
Hello Wrestlers,
We are excited to kick off our 2022-2023 season. We had a lot of fun and success last year, and we are excited to keep building the program. This year we are going to separate into two groups beginner and Advanced/Junior High wrestlers. Here is the information for both groups.
Practice: Both groups in the GHS Commons
Beginner
Who: Wrestlers that are new to the sport or do not plan on wrestling at the weekend tournaments or super state.
Ages: Pre-K – 6th Grade
Dates: Practice will begin on November 8th. This group will practice Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:00 PM – 6:50 PM. This team will practice from November 8th – December 28th. Dates may be subject to change depending on the High School wrestling Schedule.
Cost: $ 65.00 per wrestler and includes a T-Shirt. Each wrestler will be required to purchase a USA-limited Folkstyle Athlete Membership. This cost is $20.00 and provides secondary sports accident insurance for your wrestler. This card can be bought at www.usawmembership.com
The goal for this Team: The team will be taught the basics of wrestling. This will include basic move sets and match mechanics. Practice will be geared towards developing interest and love of the sport.
Advance/Junior High
Who: Wrestlers in Junior High or have wrestled before and are looking to compete at weekend tournaments and super state or by coach invite to this group. Please reach out to a coach if you are unsure if your wrestler should be in this group.
Dates: Practice will begin on November 7th. This group will practice on Mondays 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM and Tuesdays and Wednesdays 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM. Dates may be subject to change depending on the High School wrestling Schedule. This team will practice from November 7th to February 10-11 (Super State).

The Goal for this Team: We will start preparing the wrestler to transition to more competitive wrestling and high school wrestling. This team’s practices will be run more as a club sport with advanced techniques being taught. These practices will be harder than the beginner group and more focused. The goal of this group is to get the wrestlers to compete in tournaments regularly through the season to prepare for Norther State and Super State.
