Central Mountain High School Drama Club with Toner Auto Parts Presents Hadestown Teen Edition by Anais Mitchell
Hadestown intertwines two mythic tales—that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone—as it invites you on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. Our characters pit industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love.
In a production that feels uniquely close to home, a train pulls in at a quiet railroad station along the Susquehanna River - now the River Stix, barrier between the land of the living and the underworld. The passengers aboard that train disembark with an old song, a sad song, a love song, and they're gonna sing it again.
Hadestown is a haunting and hopeful theatrical experience that grabs you and never lets go.
