2025 ODC Young Dancer Workshop
April 18 & 19, 2025
We are hosting a clinic/workshop for elementary school-aged young dancers (Pre-School-6th grade). The workshop will include technique and repertory classes from Orem Dance Company members, and the opportunity to learn a dance that will be performed alongside ODC dancers on the opening night of our spring concert Turn the Page on Friday, April 25.
We are looking forward to meeting and dancing with the young dancers in our community, and excited to show them what ODC is all about!
On Friday, the workshop will begin at 3:30 PM and go until 5:30 PM. It will continue on Saturday, beginning at 9:00 AM and concluding at 12:00 PM.
The content of the workshop will cover contemporary and hip hop dance, and will include classes in technique and repertoire, as well as the opportunity to learn a dance that will be performed alongside ODC dancers on the opening night of our spring concert Turn the Page on Friday, April 25. (For dancers who commit to performing with us in the concert, there will be a tech rehearsal slot as well--see below for more information about concert)
Dancers who attend the workshop will receive a T-shirt and a complimentary ticket to our Friday night (April 25) show.
If you would like to register for ODC’s Young Dancer Workshop, please complete registration by April 15, 2025. We encourage you to register early, as this will help us best prepare for your dancer. Registration fees will be $25 before the deadline, and will go up to $35 after April 15. Please note that we will accept walk-in registrations, but cannot guarantee available tee shirts for late registrations. Money raised will cover the cost of the tee shirt and snacks during the clinic, and any leftover money will be used to get props or costumes for the concert piece. We are also offering a $5 discount on the registration fee for additional siblings who register. Registration fees are non-refundable.
If interested young dancers would like to attend the clinic, but are not available for the concert performance, they are welcome to register and attend the Saturday morning classes. There will not be a drop in registration price in this situation however, as the cost of registration covers the tee shirt and snacks provided at the clinic.

Concert Details
We are very excited to invite our workshop dancers to perform alongside ODC in a specialty piece choreographed especially for this mixed group of dancers! The dance will be performed during the Friday night show of the OHS Dance Department’s spring concert, Turn the Page.
A general sense of the commitment is outlined below:
Friday, April 18 & Saturday, April 19: ODC’s Young Dancer Workshop
The piece will be set during Choreography rotations at the workshop
Wednesday, April 23: Tech Rehearsal
Guest dancers will attend for a 30-minute block of time, from 6-6:45 PM. This rehearsal will be for the dancers who commit to being in our concert piece. This extra rehearsal will make sure all our dancers can remember the choreography, help us practice with technical elements, and give our Young Dancers time to get used to the stage one final time before performing!
Friday, April 25: Opening Night & Workshop Performance
Guest dancers will receive free admission and one additional complimentary ticket to the show on April 25. They will watch the first half of the show from the audience, then head backstage during intermission. The combined workshop dance will be performed in the second half of the show. After their performance, Young Dancers will be allowed to return to their seats in the audience.
