Granger High School Native Pollinator Garden Fundraiser

Granger High School Native Pollinator Garden Fundraiser

Support the Granger High Native Pollinator Project and help us restore our local ecosystem. Pollinators are essential to our survival, responsible for one out of every three bites of food we eat and the reproduction of up to 90% of flowering plants.

With essential native pollinator species like the Western Bumblebee in drastic decline, our project aims to establish a habitat using Utah Native Plants to provide the specific food and shelter they need. We focus on native species because they have co-evolved with local pollinators over millions of years to create a resilient web of life. Many of Utah’s 1,100 native bee species are specialists; up to 45% require pollen from specific native plants to survive. These native "powerhouses," often significantly outperform non-native honeybees in pollination efficiency.

Through this service-learning project, our students are becoming citizen scientists and community leaders. They are using what we’ve learned in class to—to solve a real-world environmental problem.

Your support will not only give us space to house native pollinators, but also show our students that we support their growth as agents of change when they try and tackle important social concerns.

Join us in supporting Funk's Honors Biology Class of 2026 as we learn through service this quarter! We've explored the vital role of Utah’s native pollinators and studied Granger's landscaping biodiversity. Now, we're eager to turn our knowledge into action by creating a Native Species Pollinator Garden. Your donation will help us purchase plants and materials to transform our school grounds and support local ecosystems. Every contribution makes a difference! Thank you for helping students and pollinators thrive.

Thanks for your help,

Brooke Funk
