Sales Tax Collection

Sales Tax Collection announcement banner

You can now collect sales tax on products sold through SuccessFund!

While most school fundraisers and activities are exempt from sales tax requirements, we know there are situations where sales tax must be collected based on your state or local regulations. This feature update gives administrators the flexibility to support those use cases when needed.

How it works:

  • Administrators can enable sales tax for their organization (Bank Accounts > Settings)
  • Multiple sales tax rates can be configured and managed centrally
  • During campaign approval, reviewers can decide whether sales tax applies to specific products
  • Different products can use different tax rates within the same campaign
  • Sales tax is automatically calculated and applied to the transaction at checkout

For accounting purposes, collected sales tax is deposited into the same bank account as campaign proceeds. Administrators can optionally assign a separate allocation ID or account code to help track and manage those funds separate from group budgets.

Sales tax is designed to be available when you need it, while staying out of the way when you don’t. If you do not configure sales tax rates, the option will not be available for reviewers during the approval process.

To get started, administrators can configure sales tax settings under Administration > Bank Accounts > Settings

If you’d like to discuss getting this configured for your organization, please reach out to our team.
