Fees vs. campaigns
A campaign is something people can pay if they want to. A fundraiser, a concession stand, spirit wear.
A fee is assigned to a student. It’s owed, it has a due date, and you need to know who paid and who still owes.
A simple way to decide which to choose:
- Has to be paid? Make it a fee.
- Optional, but you need to track it by student, like a parking permit or AP test? Make it a fee.
- A teacher or coach just needs to collect for something quick? A campaign works great.
Why turn on fees
- Assign fees to a whole school, a grade, or a group like the cheer team
- Families sign in once and see every fee for every kid, next to fundraisers and events
- Reminders go out on their own before and after the due date
- Waivers, caps, and partial payments are built in
- Every payment is tied to the student and coded to the right account
- Log cash and checks so every payment shows up in one report
- Your student roster syncs from your SIS, so you don’t need to pay for a separate fee module
Free for the district
No setup fee, subscription, or contract. Families pay with Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, or card. The payment services fee covers card processing, and the district chooses who covers it.
