How do booster clubs and PTAs get sanctioned by our district?

Sanctioning is how a district officially recognizes its booster clubs, PTAs, and PTOs. Each group fills out an application, usually once a year, and the district reviews it.

For district administrators

1. Go to External Groups in the Administration menu and click Settings.
2. Turn on External groups must be sanctioned.
3. Choose how long sanctioning lasts: a set number of months, or the same date every year.
4. Click Configure Application Questions to build your application. You can upload a PDF of your paper form, and SuccessFund will pull the questions out for you.
5. Click Save.

You need the Manage Approval Settings permission to change these settings. To approve or reject applications, you need the Manage External Group Sanctioning permission.

For booster clubs and PTAs

1. Click the orange banner at the top of the screen, or open your group’s page and choose Sanctioning from the Actions menu.
2. Answer your district’s questions and upload any documents, like bylaws or officer lists.
3. Click Submit Application. We’ll email you when the district makes a decision.

Your first application also asks you to verify your group’s legal name, address, and EIN. You only do this once.

You can still create campaigns and submit them for approval while your application is being reviewed.
